#60inSixty Updated...

Wowza!  Ladies, We are off to an impressive start for the first 12 days of the #60inSixty Challenge!  Total miles reported, by 85 different participants is 1,294.57 miles!

I have calculated totals, but please feel free to email me at darcispear@yahoo.com if you total is incorrect or you are missing completely or you are listed twice.  I have received some miles through email, some are on IG, etc. etc.
It's completely realistic that I have missed something, someone or some miles.
There were over 430 IG posts and I'm not sure how many emails, I'd guess 50+.
So take a look and see where you stand!

I also highlighted my standing...yup, I'm sucking it up!  :-(

Streak On, Streakers...

Update: Runners World Summer Challenge, the RW Run Streak!

Holy Cow!  The #STREAKERS are more than half way done with the RW Run Streak Challenge!  Today marks Day 24 out of 39!  Holla!  The group is still hanging tough and I couldn't be more excited!  Through yesterday, Day 23, we have ran a total of 348.27 miles!  Amazing!

I unfortunately am having some trouble with shin splints!  It all started when I decided to go to a random Step Class at lunch last Monday (on the 10th), it was shin hell - rocking horses out the wazoo and jumping jacks that aimed to kill!  Since then my shins have been SCREAMING!  I decided to take it easy this week and just do my 1 mile per day requirement for the challenge and I've been icing and stretching like crazy!  The left one is feeling better/good, the right one...not so much!  I'm hopeful though that taking it easy this week will let me get back at it next week!

This past Saturday I ran the first of three runs in the JoMo Summer Night Run Series, The Starry Night 5k!  It was so fun, I got to meet up with a couple old friends, Julie (Instagram @julieamitchell) and Amanda!  I hadn't seen Amanda since Mardi Gras in STL back in February so I was excited to see her and catch up a bit - she is still just as nice and sweet as ever, she kicked that 5k's ASS and PR'd!  I also met Ashlee for the first time and I just love her!  She is so cute and so happy!  This was Ashlee and her Husband's first official 5k, can I tell you just how cute it is to see a couple be so supportive of each other and run together!?  It's almost sickeningly cute...  My old college friend, Brandy also ran - I love her and I hate her!  She is new to running, but it just seems to come easy to her and she has kicked my ass in the last two 5k's we've done together!  I'm totally jealous...it's not a good look!

I also PR'd and finished in 33:43, which was like 27 seconds off my previous PR!  Holla!  The run was on a trail, which meant part gravel, part chat crap, part pavement.  On top of that add a shit ton of rain and you had yourself a messy situation, but it was a totally fun run!  Everyone had on glow stick bracelets and necklaces, which was almost a little trippy to me!  Eek!

The next run in the series is on July 13th at 8:30pm in JoMo - A Midsummer Night!  I know Julie, Ashlee, Ashlee's Husband and I are running for sure!  Brandy has her 10 year HS reunion so she will miss it!  I hope Amanda decides to come down again though...hint, hint!  Who else is in the area?  Join us won't you?!

The Streaking Continues...

Friday Update: Runners World Summer Challenge, the RW Run Streak!

The #STREAKERS are still going strong and I couldn't be more proud to be apart of such an awesome group of now 10 ladies that are uniting simply by running! Group leader, Julie (Instagram @julieamitchell), provided an update last night: as of day 11 the group has run a total of 174.61 miles! Boom! Each runner has completed their mile/day requirement, with late joiners making up miles as needed. The top runner in the group logged 28.09 miles in the last 11 days! I was sitting at 20.31 miles. What!? What!?

Here are some of my favorite motivational posters/quotes shared by the group this week!

National Running Day was also this week!  It is the first Wednesday of June every year!  2013 was the first time I participated in NRD..hell, I didn't even know there was a NRD before this year!  Every runner in the nation had the opportunity to create their own NRD badge that stated why they run, mine is below!  Holla!  Y'all know I love me some cute clothes!

Lastly, I added another Summer Running Challenge to my plate!  Local runners in my area participate in the 100 Miles in 100 Days!  This is the second year the challenge has existed, the goal is for each runner participating to run 100 Miles in 100 Days and runs from June 1st to September 8th.

Last year the group ran (virtually) from Seattle, Washington to Miami, Florida as a group in 100 days!  The team goal is to run last year's distance TWICE!  Seven days in, I've ran 12.5 miles towards this challenge!  I'm getting myself a Green T-Shirt, dammit!

Anyone else participating in any Summer Fit Challenges?!

Pardon My Streaking...

TGIF!

Just a quick post this afternoon!  This week I started the Runners World Summer Challenge, the RW Run Streak.  The challenge runs from Memorial Day to Independence Day and you are to run a mile a day, every day for that period of time.  I counted and it's 39 days!  :-)  Today is Day 5 and I will admit I have yet to get my mile in, but plan to tonight on the treadmill assuming all the tornados in the forecast hold off until I get it done!

My friend Julie (Instagram @juliemitchell) created a FB event and invited some of her local-ish running friends to join in order to keep the excitement flowing and motivate each other throughout the 39 days and it's been great so far!  There are 8 women in the group total, but one hasn't started yet and will next week.  In the first 4 days alone, the 7 active ladies have ran a total of 43.58 miles (because Julie is keeping track)!

I have to say I really enjoy the group atmostphere even though its all via FB and text messages!  Everyone is uploading their daily miles and pictures and even just motivational sayings/posters!  Here are all the ones posted so far this week!

Spring Weather in KS and OK is a hot-mess!  One day it's gorgeous, then it's cold, then it's storming, the next day it's a million degrees!  With all the rain this week a few of us have been forced inside to our treadmills while others have decided to brave the elements and run in pouring rain!

Who else wants to take the challenge?
Who cares if you are a few days behind, it's never too late to start!

H&O Workout Tank Review...

Morning Ladies!  The Lovely Taylor at Hazel & Olive Boutique sent me the very FIRST Stronger Than You Think workout tank from her new line about a month ago!  Sadly, just this week has been the first time I've gotten to wear them (I purchased one of the Drop It Like A Squat tanks) since I haven't been able to workout since the BOOBS happened!  Now, I have to say - I'm not normally a huge fan of tank tops for working out, or in general, but these tanks are amazing!  I still might not show them off in public because I'm conceited and insecure like that when it comes to my huge arms and back fat, but I'll rock these bad girls all around my house for now and I'm hoping in another 15 pounds I'll be good with rocking them on the road or at the Y or wherever!

But seriously, these tanks are the SOFTEST material ever!  They are super lightweight and a great length!  I would say they run a bit on the small(er) side, both of mine are Larges and they aren't big by any means.  Overall though, I love them and I'm just waiting for her to make an I Love Kansas tank!  Hint!  Hint!
H&O has tons of color options and sayings to chose from!
Taylor also recently added a t-shirt style to the line as well!
This Incline Walking Workout is Tough!
Work by Iggy Azalea is my current FAVORITE workout song - you should totally check it out!
I also only wear Urban Halo headbands when I work out!  They are great for me b/c I sweat...alot!
My At Home Garage Gym!  What?!
H&O Stronger Than You Think Tank - Size Large
H&O Drop It Like A Squat Tank - Size Large
I'm doing Alyssia's, @100daysofcleaneating on IG, April Fit Challenge!  It's #WallSitMonth... FYI - Wall Sits Suck!
Erin's DietBet ended yesterday!  I need/want to do another one to keep this "roll" I got going on!  I searched the website and found this one...it starts Monday!  I think I'm going to do it, join me won't you?!
And now for your viewing please, a hot, sweaty, breathless Darci!  Enjoy!  You're Welcome!

My Bestie Julie's wedding is tomorrow!  Eek!  So excited!  I'm heading to Wichita tonight after work and the festivities begin tomorrow!  I apologize in advance for blowing up your IG or FaceBook feeds #sorryimnotsorry ....but if you want to follow along in real time make sure you are following me on Instagram @ darci_spear or on FB @ Darci Spear.  Love You, B's!
