Weekend Rewind...

Hola Ladies!
I'm linking up this morning afternoon with Sami for Weekend Shenanigans!brought to you via PICTURES!
one The Husband's newest tattoo, she might maybe kind of resemble someone we all know and love.
two Jack and Cam after the Friday Matinee of Monster's University, they loved it.
three The Last Exorcism Part 2 - we LOVE scary movies, this one pretty good.  The Husband is always more creeped out by them, so he couldn't sleep and stayed up until 3am working - although he will say it's because he has "so much work to do"...we all know the truth!
four Bean's Birth Date Tattoo, this is numero quatro in the ink department for me, love it!
five Herbal Cleanse started yesterday so an Oreo Sonic Blast was a must Saturday evening!
six 21 AND OVER - hilarious!  So, so, so funny!  A must see - it's like The Hangover but the college edition!
seven Identity Theft - loved it!  It was amazingly funny.  You should add it to your list to see!
eight New tanks!  I shopped via text pictures from my good friend, B! We love Audacious Boutique.
Sunday Funday!!
nine Norah mucho enjoying her ice cream cone on a little break from the sun and pool!  Truth be told she wasn't in the best of moods.
ten The Super Moon or whatever, I made The Husband go outside and snap a picture at 11pm last night because I forgot and I think it's a requirement to have a picture of the Super Moon or whatever.
eleven The Monster, known as Oscar, that I had to deal with in the truck. Oscar no good truck rider!
twelve Who needs swimming trunks?  Not Jack, I'm hoping his love of the Speedo-style wears off by the time he hits middle school...yikes!

So What! Wednesday...

So What Wednesday

This week I'm saying SO WHAT! if...
  • I'm a day late and dollar short on SWW, better late than never...right?!
  • I post Bikini Pictures...I've earned it!  Missed them, well aren't you in luck...You're Welcome!
  • I screenshot Sami's comment on Ashlee's blog post simply because it boosted my mood!  It totally motivates me to keep going!  Thanks Sami, I totes (I can't believe I just typed "totes") want to meet you too!
  • I'm totally obsessed with my friend's new tattoo placement! I need some ink in my life soon!
  • This picture might have been MADE for me...Eek!
  • Jack has worn fleece pajama pants with hunting boots and no unders to daycare every.single.day this week...I'm not fighting him on it, well not until he passes out from heat stroke - I might have to step in and insist at that point.
  • My BIL broke the Tree Swing - like we are talking the entire branch came crashing down with him - and instead of asking if he was OK, I laughed hysterically and took pictures! At least Oscar was concerned! *note the tree branch, with chain still attached...
  • Maybe I stole an Old Flame's picture off FB of his wife and did a side by side comparison, sent it to a couple friends with the caption "WTF"?
  • I know "Morning Stomach" doesn't last, I still love the capture the moment! There this morning, gone 15 minutes later...so unfair!
  • I'm considering getting the Tough Mudder logo tattoo after we finish the course?  They do the tats on site at the event, how cool!?  Except I don't do colored ink, so modifications would have to be made...and maybe I'll just get the "running man" part?
  • I'm considering trying the Advocare Herbal Cleanse for the 4th time, knowing I've never made it past Day 5...Oy vey!  I'm currently participating in TWO DietBets and need a push to meet my goals!
  • I'm secretly, or not so secretly, super excited that the kids are spending the weekend at the in-laws!  Quiet time and naps sound AMAZING!
Anyone else want to join me and be late for SWW?  If so, use the button above to link up with Shannon over at Life After I Dew!

Streak On, Streakers...

Update: Runners World Summer Challenge, the RW Run Streak!

Holy Cow!  The #STREAKERS are more than half way done with the RW Run Streak Challenge!  Today marks Day 24 out of 39!  Holla!  The group is still hanging tough and I couldn't be more excited!  Through yesterday, Day 23, we have ran a total of 348.27 miles!  Amazing!

I unfortunately am having some trouble with shin splints!  It all started when I decided to go to a random Step Class at lunch last Monday (on the 10th), it was shin hell - rocking horses out the wazoo and jumping jacks that aimed to kill!  Since then my shins have been SCREAMING!  I decided to take it easy this week and just do my 1 mile per day requirement for the challenge and I've been icing and stretching like crazy!  The left one is feeling better/good, the right one...not so much!  I'm hopeful though that taking it easy this week will let me get back at it next week!

This past Saturday I ran the first of three runs in the JoMo Summer Night Run Series, The Starry Night 5k!  It was so fun, I got to meet up with a couple old friends, Julie (Instagram @julieamitchell) and Amanda!  I hadn't seen Amanda since Mardi Gras in STL back in February so I was excited to see her and catch up a bit - she is still just as nice and sweet as ever, she kicked that 5k's ASS and PR'd!  I also met Ashlee for the first time and I just love her!  She is so cute and so happy!  This was Ashlee and her Husband's first official 5k, can I tell you just how cute it is to see a couple be so supportive of each other and run together!?  It's almost sickeningly cute...  My old college friend, Brandy also ran - I love her and I hate her!  She is new to running, but it just seems to come easy to her and she has kicked my ass in the last two 5k's we've done together!  I'm totally jealous...it's not a good look!

I also PR'd and finished in 33:43, which was like 27 seconds off my previous PR!  Holla!  The run was on a trail, which meant part gravel, part chat crap, part pavement.  On top of that add a shit ton of rain and you had yourself a messy situation, but it was a totally fun run!  Everyone had on glow stick bracelets and necklaces, which was almost a little trippy to me!  Eek!

The next run in the series is on July 13th at 8:30pm in JoMo - A Midsummer Night!  I know Julie, Ashlee, Ashlee's Husband and I are running for sure!  Brandy has her 10 year HS reunion so she will miss it!  I hope Amanda decides to come down again though...hint, hint!  Who else is in the area?  Join us won't you?!

The Streaking Continues...

Friday Update: Runners World Summer Challenge, the RW Run Streak!

The #STREAKERS are still going strong and I couldn't be more proud to be apart of such an awesome group of now 10 ladies that are uniting simply by running! Group leader, Julie (Instagram @julieamitchell), provided an update last night: as of day 11 the group has run a total of 174.61 miles! Boom! Each runner has completed their mile/day requirement, with late joiners making up miles as needed. The top runner in the group logged 28.09 miles in the last 11 days! I was sitting at 20.31 miles. What!? What!?

Here are some of my favorite motivational posters/quotes shared by the group this week!

National Running Day was also this week!  It is the first Wednesday of June every year!  2013 was the first time I participated in NRD..hell, I didn't even know there was a NRD before this year!  Every runner in the nation had the opportunity to create their own NRD badge that stated why they run, mine is below!  Holla!  Y'all know I love me some cute clothes!

Lastly, I added another Summer Running Challenge to my plate!  Local runners in my area participate in the 100 Miles in 100 Days!  This is the second year the challenge has existed, the goal is for each runner participating to run 100 Miles in 100 Days and runs from June 1st to September 8th.

Last year the group ran (virtually) from Seattle, Washington to Miami, Florida as a group in 100 days!  The team goal is to run last year's distance TWICE!  Seven days in, I've ran 12.5 miles towards this challenge!  I'm getting myself a Green T-Shirt, dammit!

Anyone else participating in any Summer Fit Challenges?!

It's Baaaaaack...

I'm going to start by declaring my appreciation for each and every one of the now THIRTEEN nominations!  Really, I do, but for the love of God could someone please pimp me out so I get over 200 followers already!  It makes me feel super lame that I've been nominated 13 times and still don't have 200 followers! LOL!  Oh well, with every nomination comes the opportunity to talk/write more about myself and the Attention Whore inside me LOVES it!

Here we go, this time Amy over at Getz Girl On Fire nominated me! Amy is a wife and SAHM to 3 adorable kids, she uses her blog as a scrapbook of her family's lives, "A love letter to my kids and to my future self!" She recently started finding her love of running and is almost finished with the C25K training program, head on over and check her out!

The Official Rules:
1. You must thank the person who nominated you for the award.
2. You must write eleven facts/things/tidbits about yourself.
3. You must answer eleven questions that were given to you from your nominator.
4. You must nominate eleven other bloggers who have 200 or less followers and tag them in your acceptance post.
5. You must create eleven new questions for your nominees to answer in their acceptance post.
6. You must notify your eleven nominees on their blog, so they can accept their award and pay it forward.
7. You must not nominate the person who nominated you.

Darci's Rules (Because I Can):
1. You must thank the person who nominated you for the award.
2. You must write eleven facts/things/tidbits about yourself.
3. You must answer eleven questions that were given to you from your nominator.

Eleven Things You Never Wanted To Know About Me:
1. I'm a car-aholic.  I get bored with cars in a hot second, its horrible.  In my 15 years of driving I've had 9 vehicles, that comes out to a 1.67 year average Darci-Life per car.  Yikes!  My all time favorite car was my 1993 Black Geo Tracker! Top Down, Music Up, That's The Way I Like To F... that may or may not be true, I'll never tell!
2. I refuse to clip my children's toenails and/or fingernails. Nope, can't do it...won't do it, no matter how cute they try to make the clippers!
3. I was the first chosen Sophomore Girl to be a Mat Maid for the wrestling team in HS. It was a very big deal to be chosen to be a Mat Maid period, let alone as a Sophomore.  Mat Maid = Cleaning the mats before practice and duals, traveling with the team to all meets, keeping score for each match, and giving as many maybe inappropriate massages your little hands can handle. To this day, I still love a man in a singlet! Ow! Ow!
4. I get hormone injections every 2 weeks. Being pre-menopausal at 28 years old is simply unfair!
5. I have to kneed my feet against each other to fall asleep; it's an odd habit, but I've done it for as long as I can remember.
6. I had unfairly easy deliveries with both of my kids.  Jack I pushed twice, one contraction.  Norah Bean I pushed four times, two contractions.  I also pooped both times...KARMA!
7. I don't have a Thyroid, it was removed for "growths" when Jack was 5 months old.  I take a natural hormone replacement daily.
8. I chew on the inside of my cheeks when nervous or bored or annoyed or I guess in general.
*do not google "chewing on cheeks" images*
9. The Husband and I work for the same company, different departments - we don't interact at all!  If you didn't know, you'd think we were complete strangers.
10. I need SELFIE rehab! Wait, you already know that! #sorryimnotsorry
11. Old men in Mr. Rogers cardigans FREAK me out!  Once they take their shoes off, it's over...I'm done!

Amy's Questions:
1. Which do you prefer - cardio, weights or yoga?
Cardio
2. What is your favorite movie of all time?
The Original "Step Up"
3. If you could pick a super power, which one would you choose?
Invisible, duh...
4. Name an item on your bucket list!
5. Why did you originally start blogging?
I had a "family" blog that I started when I got pregnant with Jack.  That got boring, so I started this one - originally to keep myself accountable on my "Get Fit" journey.
6. What was your first car?
1989 Blue Plymouth Sundance
7. What is your ideal vacation?
A Beach, Sun, Frozen Drinks and Girlfriends!
8. Which do you prefer - beer, wine or mixed drinks?
Mixed
9. What would you chose for your last meal?
McD's  Quarter Pounder Meal, Super-Sized - cheese only with a Diet Dr. Pepper!
10. Are you a dog or cat kind of person?
Dog!  Cannot handle the cat hair...
11. What is your favorite season and why?
Fall!  Leggings, Boots, Sweaters and Scarves
