Breakfast Of Champions...

I think I mentioned before that I've never really been a "breakfast-eater" but I recently have started drinking Vi-Shape protein shakes for breakfast.  I will fully say that the Vi-Shape mix tastes better than any other protein powder mix I've ever tasted - it's Sweet Cream Flavor and reminds me alot of cake batter!  Yum-o!

Breakfast Of Champions

I bought an Oster single serve little blender where the cup has both the lid and grinder attachments, I love all-in-one products - simple and easy, living my life I don't need to add ANY unnecessary complications!

The deets:
1. Vi-Shape Soy Protein Powder Mix - Sweet Cream Flavor
  • Each shake uses 2 scoops of powder which equals 90 calories
2. Silk Pure Almond Unsweetened Milk
  • Each shake uses 1 cup of milk which equals 30 calories
Now you can stop here and add just a little ice and the shake tastes great or you can add in fruit, veggies, flavor packs (Peach Packet pictured - 10 calories) or just about anything!  There are over 200 recipes available!  Currently my favorite breakfast shake is simply adding a banana - so good and filling!  :-)

C25K...

I started the Couch To 5K (C25K) training program this week and it's going wonderful.  I used to run quite a bit before having Jack, and then again after having Jack, up until I got pregnant with Norah.  So I installed the C25K App on my iPhone (I love the app, it's amazing - tells you when to run, when to walk - all while your iTunes blare in the background.  You.Must.Try.It) and got down to business!

I started with Week 2 of the program and probably should have started with Week 3, but I signed up for my VERY FIRST 5K run on September 29th back home in Chanute - and starting with Week 2 would put me right at the end of the 8 Week program the week of the race!  Perfect Timing, it must be a sign from the running fanatics up above!

I ran Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so far this week, which is more than you are supposed to but I get addicted when I start things - I think it's a little bit of my tiny case of self-diagnosed OCD coming through.

Last night, Chris was home early (for once) so I took advantage of the infrequent available babysitter and decided to go for a run...then Jack insisted decided he MUST tag along!  This made for an even hotter (it was 97 degrees on the bank sign as we ran by), longer and heavier haul, but we made it!  Sucessfully completing W2D3 (for the second time this week)!

Jack and I ready to attack our run!
W2D3 Complete!
Exhausted, Sweaty and Tongues-Waggin!
One Tired Momma!
I am very excited for my first 5K run and I hope my enthusiam continues as the C25K app continues to kick my ass up and down the streets of Frontenac OR the treadmill at the Y - only time will tell!

Starting Point...

I honestly cannot believe I'm about to put all my FAT BUSINESS out for the world to see, but I feel I have to.  Not for people to see or read, but for me - I have to hold myself accountable and what better way to stay motivated then to be reminded of where I am starting and where I don't ever want to be again!  So here I am in all my 174 pound glory (um, yeah - I weighed this morning and it was more than I originally thought...Oy Vey!) and this is my very public proclomation that I will never be this weight again!

Front View - 174 Pounds
Side View - 174 Pounds
Those weren't too bad, right?  Well here comes the bad news views - prepare yourself, this shit is scary!  This serves as your warning: I am not responsible for any nightmares you may experience during your sweet dreams tonight!

Front View - 174 Pounds
I just love my "Still-There" baby belly...

Side View - 174 Pounds
Definitely see a "Booby-Doo" in this picture...(my belly sticks out farther than my boobies do)
There you have it my friends, me in all my chubby, fat girl glory. And this is my promise to you to never scare the crap out of you again because the next photos I post WILL look better!  I don't know how much better, but BETTER!  Let's get this party started!

The Time Is Now...

My first ever post to this blog was about a year and a half ago.  In May 2011 I found out I was pregnant with our second baby, a girl who arrived on 1/30/12!

Between the time I originally started this blog until the time I found out I was pregnant I gained a ton of weight.  I don't have a Thyroid so I take daily hormone replacements.  Since I had lost the remainder of my baby weight from Jack and had less "mass" my primary doctor started messing with my hormone levels - it was disaster.  After gaining about 40 pounds in 3-4 months I was finally referred to a specialist, an Endocronologist.  I found out I was pregnant a couple days before my initial visit with him, but together we aggressively managed my hormone levels and I only gained 19 pounds with Norah.

I remember the day I went for my first visit with my OBGYN at 10 weeks pregnant and weighing 189 pounds...OMG!  After Norah, the initial 40 pounds fell off in the first 3-4 weeks, but since then I've been stuck right around the 168-170 pound mark.

It's time to get my act together and I'm going to use this blog to share my story, my progress and hold myself accountable!  Hold on tight, it's bound to be a bumpy road...
