Dirty Thirty...

Go, go, go, go, go, go

Go shawty, it's your birthday
We gonna party like it's your birthday
We gon' sip Bacardi like it's your birthday
And you know we don't give a fuck, it's not your birthday

Birthday Selfie!
If you ask me... Thirty is lookin' pretty good thus far! ;-)
That's right ladies, it's the day we all haven't been waiting for... the Dirty Thirty!  What!?  What!?  I'm going to take the non-traditional approach and embrace this day, the day I turn Thirty...30...ThreeZero!  Thirty is going to be MY year...my year to take back my life and continue to find myself again!  Find the pieces of me that have gotten lost along the journey of life; wedding, marriage/wife, bambino numero uno adn bambino numero dos.  Like alot of you I'm sure, whether you admit it or not, I have "lost" alot of what makes me-me in the past 10 years.  This is the time in most of our lives where we went from a single, college-loving, loose woman to a married mother.  That journey is huge and I feel that I haven't made myself a priority, especially in the last 5 years and that shit just ain't gonna happen anymore!
These pictures were all taken this week... damn, I look good (from the shoulders up) for Thirty!!
So here is the deal, I'm going to list out 30 things, items, tasks, adventures, goals, targets - whatever you want to call them - that I want to accomplish in my 30th year here on this great place we call Earth!  Awesome right, and so not overdone...HP!  My items will be anything from fitness or costmetic improvements, foods I've never tried, places I want to go, people I want to see/meet, things I want to have the balls to wear in public - pretty much whatever! I'll keep track and update as each item is scheduled and completed!  Boo-ya!  Sounds amazeballs, right?!  I'll admit, I just thought of this concept this morning (like 10 minutes ago), so I might not list all 30 right here and now because I don't want them to be lame, ordinary and/or expected goals!

Ok, let's get to it!  In no particular order...
  1. Run (at least 3) 10K Races
  2. Run (at least 1) Half Marathon
  3. Get New Boobies
  4. Run (at least 5) 5K Races
  5. Get to my pre-baby weight (145 pounds)
  6. Rock a swim suit with no shame at the public swimming pool this summer
  7. Fit into my wedding dress
  8. Experience Mardi Gras with 2 of the most awesome chicks (Holly and Mel)
  9. Take a girls trip this summer
  10. Visit another country
  11. Get Norah's Birthdate tattoo (Foot)
  12. Get Eleanor Roosevelt quote tattoo (Ribs)
  13. Get E.E. Cummings quote tattoo (Top of Shoulder)
  14. Take the kids to Branson - SDC and White Water
  15. Go for a hot-air balloon ride
  16. Take Jack horseback riding
  17. Go to a concert!
  18. Family camping trip
  19. Get my photo wall done
  20. Hang curtains in the living area
Gosh, 30 things is alot!  Haha!  I'm 2/3rds of the way through my list!  Help me out, ladies!  Give me some goals to add to my list!

In other news I'm heading to the city tomorrow to meet up with Holly and Molly for a little birthday celebration!  Then we have our first 10K Sunday!  Wish us luck!

Tattoo Numero Tres...

I've been itching to get another tattoo, like now!

I have Jack's birth date on my left foot and I am getting Norah's on my right foot, but that's a given.  I like the placement of Kassie's foot tattoo and I'm pretty sure I'm going to steal it for Norah's.

This is Jack's Birth date - Masculine and Strong, duh he is a boy!
This is Kassie's Foot - I want Norah's Birth date here and in a pretty, delicate font!
But I want something else too!  I want the quote below, well the first part "Do what you feel in your heart to be right"...

The dilemma is...where do I get it?  Here are some placements I like...

This is my favorite placement, but I think the quote is too long.
Like it wouldn't fit unless the font was really small and then I'd be afraid you wouldn't be able to read it...
Some placement, but I'm not sure I did the TWO LINES...
I would not get it this BIG - like the font size, but it could work for the length of the quote...
This placement is just OK to me...
I've always liked down the spine tats, but I'm not sure I'm this ballsy..
Thigh Tat?  IDK...my thighs aren't cute...
Thoughts/Opinions, Please!  Help a girl out!  I told Holly we should get tats when I am there for Mardi Gras!  I believe her response was "Whaaaaa :)" I don't know what she would be worried about...after all she does have the coolest tat I've ever seen...

Friday Quickie...

It's Friday!  Can I get a "Hell Yeah!" ??

It's been a whirlwind of a week!  My Boss was back in the office this week (he moved out to his Phoenix house in October) so work was crazy busy with meetings, meetings and more meetings!

This week has been full of some exciting stuff...

Bean took her official first steps this past Sunday!  It was so cute and so funny!  She is starting to get a little braver as the week has gone by but still really will only walk from one "thing" to another that are only say five feet apart or so.

The same night Norah started steppin' it out...Jack started beating her up!  Jealous, much?  I think he suddenly felt threatened by her mobility.

I made it to the Y on Monday and got my 5 miles in... I was pretty proud of myself.  Holly and I made a 5 mile lunch pact - someone didn't hold up their end of the deal, but I won't name names...

So my 30th birthday is just around the corner (next Friday) and The Husband is coming though big time... a treadmill and a new pair of running kicks!  Yay, me!  I just got the notice that the treadmill arrived at Walmart (Site to Store) and we are going to pick it up tomorrow!

Watch for the surprise at the end... This boy is outta control!  Just this morning he asked if he could watch the "Funny Movie" tonight (aka Pitch Perfect) and I was said "Maybe..."  He replied with, "Please, Momma! I love Fat Amy!  She is so funny, Momma!  I really like Fat Amy!"  Like what 3 year old knows who "Fat Amy" is?!  I about died!

I ombre'd my hair last Saturday and surprisingly I love it so far!  It's so subtle that I can still wear it straight without looking like a freak, but it's also definitely a noticeable change.  I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Jack has been Polar Bear Hunting...

And Elephant Hunting this week!

And I went back to BANGS!  I'm still debating.  I kind of love them, kind of hate them.  I always love the look, but I hate messing with them and having to constantly have them trimmed.  Because eventually I end up trimming them myself and it all goes to hell!

They are actually a bit long and if I just give it like 2 weeks, they are cut perfect for a super cute scoop bang...we'll see.

Tomorrow night is my big ThreeZero birthday party!  It should be a good time.  If you want to watch me go from classy and sassy to drunk and dumb follow me on Instagram: @darci_spear.

Have a great weekend! xoxo

ps - the leopard scarf and sequins elbow patch top are both from Hazel and Olive Boutique! www.hazelandolive.com
I love EVERYTHING Taylor has at H&O!

ORB - Phase 1...

Hey! Hey!  In my original ORB post I split my journey up into 4 phases...well phase 1 is quickly approaching and I'm not too excited about my progress.  I wanted to lose 20 pounds from my starting weight before my 30th birthday...well I'm officially 10 days out from the big 3-0 and I still have like 11 pounds to lose!  Laughable, no?

Sure there are tons of excuses...the holidays, my epic NYE fall that nearly broke my left foot, work has been so busy ... blah, blah, friggin' blah.  I'm disappointed in myself because I know the real issue is my eating habits... grr...

So just for a little more motivation I received this email from a co-worker last week...

Darci,

Mark and I want to get a team together for the Mac Fitness Challenge that Trinity sent out yesterday.  We thought we’d ask you since I’ve seen you post things about working out etc. and you seem to have that competitive edge to commit.  Let me know if you think you would like to be on our team….

Wowza! Someone was asking me to be on their team for a Fit Challenge?  Holy smokes! So of course I said YES - I mean it's not like I have anything else to do, right?!  I'm excited because this is a new gym I don't belong to and I hear its amazing compared to the little 'ole YMCA.  It has a 24 hour gym, but then they also have awesome classes - anything from Yoga, Boxing, CrossFit, Cardio and Weight Training.  They even have agility classes for little kids starting at 4 years old.  It's a 12 week GET FIT Challenge - it is NOT a Biggest Loser competition, sure losing weight and body fat will get your team more points, but it's really focused on becoming healthier.  They will have team challenges, guest speakers on cooking healthy food, you get points for buying healthy foods or eating healthy when you eat out at restaurants - all kinds of stuff.  Yay!  The cool thing is, the challenge ends the week I leave for Cancun so it's another great push to get into those swimsuits!  :-)

Wish me luck!  Is anyone else doing any "organized" Fitness Challenges?
