That Picture..and DietBet Info...

That Picture... I posted it last night and I'm still a little geek'd out that I actually did! I mean who wants the world to see you not looking your best, right?! But it's actually been liberating almost and let's get real, I love attention - good, bad, or FAT! Ain't no shame in my game! What I didn't expect was the reaction who are we kidding, yes I did that I got from all of you awesome ladies, it totally makes me feel like a rock star! It's even better that I motivate and inspire others, but the best part...it motivates ME! To keep going, to keep pushing, to keep chugging along on my fitness journey, and for that I say THANK YOU!

I had some comments asking questions so I thought I'd try to answer some here real quick!
The picture on the left was mid-summer 2011, Jack had just turned TWO that May. I had also JUST found out that I was pregnant with Norah, I'm talking I was maybe 8 weeks pregnant I think?!

I remember weighing in at my very first appointment with Norah (10 week mark) at 189 pounds! Eek! Did I just type that?! Wow! I gained 20 pounds during the pregnancy and tipped the scales, literally, at 209 pounds the day I delivered her. Yikes..again, why am I typing this!?

This picture was taken at 37 weeks with Norah, I delivered her at 38w4d in January 2012, so I think it should be a relatively good visual for what me at 209 pounds looks like! Eek! Why?!

One comment I got from a relatively newer IRL friend was "never realized you were ever over weight"... so I thought I should talk about this some. If you have been a follower for long, then you probably know that my struggle with health and food and fitness isn't a new one, or even just a post-baby one...it's literally been a battle for me that started back in middle school/high school. I have some "demons" when it comes to this arena, I don't deny that...if you want to know more about that you can read that post HERE..but for today's post, let's just leave it at I have been a weight "swinger" for literally half of my life.

But here's a little background on the last say 6 or so years...

This picture is from our wedding rehearsal dinner in September 2008, I weighted right at about 140 pounds and was a comfortable size 6 or 8.  I'm 5'4" tall (almost), in case anyone is wondering.

I got pregnant with Jack on our honeymoon or...maybe it was the week of our wedding? Who knows, but I found out I was pregnant 3 weeks after we got home from our honeymoon! Yeah... The picture above is from our wedding picture "retake shoot" about 2 months after our wedding; for those of you that are new around here, you might not know that we didn't end up with ONE PROFESSIONAL photo from our actual wedding day, hence the "retake shoot"! Ugh! If you want to know the whole story you can read that post HERE...the point of the picture is to say I was about 10 weeks pregnant with Jack at this time. I remember I weighed 148 pounds the day we took these pictures because I was SO afraid that I wouldn't be able to get my dress back on!

The picture on the L was 12 weeks and the picture on the R was 39 weeks with Jack! I gained about 60 pounds during his pregnancy, I know...I know! Wow! And actually weighed less then I did with Norah, barely, at 205 pounds the day I delivered him in May 2009.

I have to point out that after Jack's pregnancy I actually lost the majority of the baby weight at one point...around the Spring of 2011, but then gained about 35 pounds or so in a matter of 3 months! Why!? Ugh! Needless to say, that was also about the time I got pregnant with Norah!

So, back where we started...some people asked the weight difference between the pictures; which is about 30 pounds. I'm currently hovering right around 160 pounds...don't believe me?! I am...one of the gifts I received from my Dad's side, along with my thighs for days is the way the women carry our weight...we just do it well...or that's what I've been told! Ha!

Ultimately I have another 15-20 pounds I'd like to lose, but I've been kind of stuck at this same place for about a year...bouncing up and down the same 10 pounds or so! This is where DietBet comes in!

I've teamed up with Marcy for another round of DietBet! It starts this coming Monday, the 10th of March! Below is a quick explanation of how a DietBet works! I took all the images right from their website!

The buy-in for this game is $25 and I think the pot is sitting right at about $500 currently; we just finished another DietBet and the buy-in was $20 and the "winners" received $37.50 back...that's almost doubling your money! Holla!

If you want to get in on the fun and join in with us click HERE to get signed up! That link takes you directly to our DietBet's page! I do believe that if you are new to DietBet you will have to create an account, which is just your basic info - name, email, whatever!

I will say, don't be freaked by the weighing in/out process - no one sees them but DietBet staff and it's honestly easier then you probably think. Just download the app if you can, it's super easy because you can just upload the pictures right from your phone!
