A Whole Lotta Everything...

This is going to be a big ole recap post and picture heavy!  Sorry!  Eek!

Let's start with Mother's Day Weekend...I'll spare you the drama that occurred and just stick with the positives!

Saturday we did some landscaping in the front of the house...well I watched from inside!  Kidding...kind of... You see I have this thing about Bushes - I don't think they should exist, anywhere or in any form!  I think clean, simple landscaping is best!  And yes, this applies to more than just your yard, Ladies!
The top picture is the Before - you see all those bushes?  They freak me out!  They screamed, "Hi all you little Earthly Critters - come build homes in me, you will be well hidden!" and I just cannot deal with that!  This June will mark our 2nd anniversary in this house and from Day One I've been begging The Husband to pull them bushes out!
The bottom pictures is the After - much, much better!  I feel like I can now walk up the sidewalk and not have to do a high-step run because I'm scared to death a snake or beaver or wasp is going to come flying out at me!
My girl Tara wanted to see our porches!  We are very lucky and have both front and back covered porches!  I guess in Texas you either get a porch and no yard or a yard and no porch or something...I guess everything isn't Bigger in Texas!  Tara, you should consider moving to SEK - it's much cooler and white trash (more on the WT later).
I spent most of Mother's Day with Bean, we slept in, had breakfast and then went on a 3 mile walk with Oscar!  We just played for the majority of the day. The Husband and Jack went turkey hunting, but I got the cute snap chat from Jack below - well his Aunt KK helped him send it!

One thing The Husband is good at is gifts...I'll give him that!  ;-)  I'm currently waiting on my new earbuds and UP bracelet.  The UP bracelet was on backorder, but I got the shipping confirmation email this morning so hopefully it'll be here by the end of the week!  Yay!  If you are considering getting an UP you should check out Amber's Review on her blog Living in the Moment!

Jack and Bean potted these plants at daycare for Mother's Day!  Too sweet!
Running...I've been trying to get back to it, but I have to be honest and say since those 6 weeks off after having my BOOBS done...it's been a slow go and harder than I thought.  I feel weak, my legs feel tired and slow - slower than my normal slow!  Ha!  I haven't yet gotten back to enjoying my runs, but I will...someday!

I had been literally stuck at 2 miles since I started back running, but I made myself push through 3 miles the other night for the first time.  I felt great at the end, but it sucked...BIG TIME.  I just don't understand how your body can go from running 5 or 6 miles to barely tolerating 3 miles!  It's mind boggling and discouraging, but also motivating because I know what I'm capable of, I just need to put in the work!
Now that we have Oscar, daily walks around the hood are also required. We usually only do a mile/night because two laps around out subdivision is a mile and it's easy!  He did not appreciate the 3 mile jot on Sunday - he literally slept all afternoon!  Someone needs to beef up their cardio...

This Saturday I'm going to run my first 5K since my last 10K the end of January.  I registered for one in April, but didn't end up running - partly because I was sick, partially because I didn't want to look like a fool!  Eek!  The run is the Joplin Memorial Run, there is a 5K and a half marathon - the worst part?  The both runs start at the same time and that time is 6:30AM - like WTF?  Plus, Joplin is like a 30 minute drive for me...sucks!

The Starlit Running Company out of Joplin is also having a Summer Race Series featuring 3 nights runs!  I'm planning to do the entire series but I have to con some friends into running with me!  Each run has a 5K and 10K option, the June run I'm doing the 5K, but planning to do the 10K in July and August!  Boom!  If you are around the JoMo area and are going to do any of the night runs hit me up!

Oscar Update:  I love this little guy, he is my new BFF for sure!  The lab results came back and showed that he had both Whipworms and Giardia and both of those things come from basically being in a dirty environment!  I was on FIRE...I don't understand people that do jobs that they don't love, especially when someone/some thing's life is at stake!  Needless to say, I wanted to call the Vet Clinic we picked Oscar up at and rip ass!  The Husband deterred me and said he would call, he still hasn't so I'm thinking I'm going to have to take the matter in my own hands!  Ha! But I did send the nasty-gram below to The Husband's cousin that works at said Vet Clinic.  The Husband is taking Oscar out to our vet this morning to have the stitches taken out of his tail and for another overall look at him, he seems to be feeling good and he no longer has the screaming shits which is definitely a plus!  Today is also his last day of all his meds!  Whoop! Whoop!

I wore this dress on Monday for the first time and I am in love!  I've had it for a couple months, but just hadn't pulled the tags off!  It's the LC Pleated Ponte Dress by Lauren Conrad for Kohl's and I got it on sale for $26.00!  It's still on sale for $24.99 and also comes in Black...I'm tempted to order the black to, that's how much I love it!

In Other News:
Confession Time: I have a bad habit at biting/picking at my lips - always have.  Well while in Mexico my new SIL introduced me to Merle Norman's Super Lube!  Yes, that's really the name and Yes, I wish I was making it up!  But it's seriously the best balm I've ever tried. I don't know if it's the consistency or the smell or what, but I have not been biting or picking at my lips since I've been wearing it.  It's pink in color, but colorless on your lips - just add a slight hint of shine.  Love it!
This little diddy was in our local Morning Sun Newspaper yesterday... #whitetrash #keepitclassy #onlyinpitt
Some of my friends and I have been discussing buying an ad next week asking for full disclosure of what Mike really did to Tina and a current status update!  Hell, this shit might just need it's own FB page!  I'm sure the story could provide hours of entertainment and plenty of laughs!
I Still Got It!! And this is when you know you do...a bunch of 18-19 year old baseball players like your selfies!  Haha!  Score!  Man, I miss junior college!  I was a self-admitted Jersey Chaser and I'm proud of it!  Baseball boys were my favorite though...so HOT!  Ow! Ow!
Lastly, I'm going to link up with Erin for Weigh In Wednesday.  I finally weighed myself yesterday morning for the first time since the morning we left for Cancun.  To my surprise I only weighed 1 pound more than before Cancun!  The bad news, I'm also 5 pounds up from my lowest weight which was probably about 6 weeks ago after Erin's Diet Bet!  Boo...

I decided to set a couple short-term goals to try to get back on track:
1. Stop with the Soda - I tend to drink Diet Dr. Pepper like it's water...actually instead of water!
2. Run 3 Days/Week at a minimum!  I also am going to start back to Step Class next Monday.  I've learned that especially now that it's getting hot outside, I'm going to have to rely on my lunch hour for the majority of my workouts!  Sucks, but gotta do what I gotta do!
3. Lose 5 pounds over the next 2 weeks!  This will be tough, but I'm determined to get back to where I was and then keep going forward!
4. Eat Naked!  We have a local business called "Naked Fruit" and they actually deliver to our work once a week.  It's all super fresh and delivered in coolers!  I've done it a few times, but I'm going to do it every week because their produce is seriously the best/freshest/tastiest around!
*disclaimer - this does not mean I'm going to Eat Clean, I can't! #sorryimnotsorry
5. Cut out the Fast Food Crap!  Ever since Mexico we've been a bad habit of just grabbing fast food.  I pretty much stems from my lack of willingness to endure the place I like to compare to hell...Walmart!  Ugh!  So looks like I'll be heading there this weekend though for the first time in about a month!  Yikes!

Love You, B Faces!

H&O Workout Tank Review...

Morning Ladies!  The Lovely Taylor at Hazel & Olive Boutique sent me the very FIRST Stronger Than You Think workout tank from her new line about a month ago!  Sadly, just this week has been the first time I've gotten to wear them (I purchased one of the Drop It Like A Squat tanks) since I haven't been able to workout since the BOOBS happened!  Now, I have to say - I'm not normally a huge fan of tank tops for working out, or in general, but these tanks are amazing!  I still might not show them off in public because I'm conceited and insecure like that when it comes to my huge arms and back fat, but I'll rock these bad girls all around my house for now and I'm hoping in another 15 pounds I'll be good with rocking them on the road or at the Y or wherever!

But seriously, these tanks are the SOFTEST material ever!  They are super lightweight and a great length!  I would say they run a bit on the small(er) side, both of mine are Larges and they aren't big by any means.  Overall though, I love them and I'm just waiting for her to make an I Love Kansas tank!  Hint!  Hint!
H&O has tons of color options and sayings to chose from!
Taylor also recently added a t-shirt style to the line as well!
This Incline Walking Workout is Tough!
Work by Iggy Azalea is my current FAVORITE workout song - you should totally check it out!
I also only wear Urban Halo headbands when I work out!  They are great for me b/c I sweat...alot!
My At Home Garage Gym!  What?!
H&O Stronger Than You Think Tank - Size Large
H&O Drop It Like A Squat Tank - Size Large
I'm doing Alyssia's, @100daysofcleaneating on IG, April Fit Challenge!  It's #WallSitMonth... FYI - Wall Sits Suck!
Erin's DietBet ended yesterday!  I need/want to do another one to keep this "roll" I got going on!  I searched the website and found this one...it starts Monday!  I think I'm going to do it, join me won't you?!
And now for your viewing please, a hot, sweaty, breathless Darci!  Enjoy!  You're Welcome!

My Bestie Julie's wedding is tomorrow!  Eek!  So excited!  I'm heading to Wichita tonight after work and the festivities begin tomorrow!  I apologize in advance for blowing up your IG or FaceBook feeds #sorryimnotsorry ....but if you want to follow along in real time make sure you are following me on Instagram @ darci_spear or on FB @ Darci Spear.  Love You, B's!

Weigh In Wednesday...

Hey, Hey!

It's Wednesday!  You know what that means...we all force ourselves to step on to the dreaded scale and see the damage we've done for the past week.  I used to be like an everyday "weigher" but Molly kept calling me cray for doing that - so now I'm really trying to only weigh once a week on Wednesday!  Haha!  I don't want to be that cray blogger girl!

Today marks the 3 week point in Erin's DietBet!  Eek!  The first DietBet I participated in I missed my goal by 0.4 pounds - Bitch!  So I'm detemined to make it this time and I think I'm totally on track to do just that!  I'm surprised because I haven't been able to work out throughout this entire DietBet due to the New and Improved Boobs!  However, at Monday's post-op with Dr. OB he said that I didn't have to tape anymore and could start low impact cardio, lower body and ab workouts as long as I was comfortable with it and it didn't hurt.  If it hurts I'm not supposed to do it - whatever it may be.  So I'm stoked and I have these two workouts on the menu for this evening...

Weigh In Wednesday Stats...
Week 1 Weigh In: Down 5.6 Pounds! Holla! Only 1.2 Pounds until Goal, Bay-Bay!
Week 2 Weigh In: Down 5.0 Pounds (Gained 0.6 Pounds)! Only 1.8 Pounds until Goal!
Week 3 Weigh In: Down 6.2 Pounds (Lost 1.2 Pounds)! Only 0.6 Pounds until Goal! Boom!

So What & Weigh In Wednesday...

So What Wednesday
Just for documentation purposes here is my Weigh In Wednesday Stats...
Week 1 Weigh In:  Down 5.6 Pounds!  Holla!  Only 1.2 Pounds until Goal, Bay-Bay!

I have no idea why, no rhyme or reason...but I'll take it.  Maybe taking a break from working out jolted my body enough to freak it out?  LOL!  Or maybe...maybe my Big Girl (the old right boob) really was THAT much bigger and weighed exactly 5.6 pounds...

Boobs, Boobs, Boobs, Boobs...

The title in my mind is set to the LMFAO song Shots...

Tuesday was the big day - the Big Boobie Makeover!  I've been posting some quick notes to my Homegirl since, but today I wanted to give you ladies a little bit more of what I was feeling before and after the surgery and then also what I was most surprised by post-surgery.

Monday night I kept it pretty low key and just hung out with my favorites since I knew it would be days before I would be able to have them crawl all over me and sit with me!  This has to be one of the biggest pitfalls to the whole surgery process.  Little Miss doesn't do well when she sees her Momma, but can't be with me.  :-(

Dr. Old Balls has you take 3 doses of an antibiotic the day before surgery in hopes of discouraging any type of infection post-surgery!  Other than that, the only prep is to also wash with Hibiclense - which is a pink antibacterial body wash.  Let me tell you that stuff is nasty!  Dries out your skin instantly and you can't use any lotions or creams afterwards - talk about uncomfortable!  Oh, and no food or water after midnight, duh!  I also did my weigh in for Erin's Diet Bet Monday night and managed to snap some B pics of the boobs.

Tuesday morning we were up bright and early, dropped the kids at daycare and headed over to Joplin.  I was definitely anxious at this point and even a little on edge, I was just ready to get it over with!

After we got to the surgery center first things first, they make you shell out the rest of the money you owe them - go figure.  After that I was taken back and given my lovely gown, a hair net thing, weird paper sock/shoes and had to give a urine sample to make sure I wasn't pregnant.  By the way, I went in to force said urine sample and wouldn't you know I started my freaking period - thanks alot Aunt Flow, your timing is impeccable!  Just one more thing I was going to have to deal with this week.

Dr. OB finally came in and drew all over me, making his pathway for the surgery.  I really wish I could have had someone snap a picture of his pathway.  Some of you had asked me what they actually do and this diagram gives a pretty easy explanation without getting too technical.  Here is also a link to OB's website and the video for a breast lift procedure (if you anyone is interested) - http://www.sherrodmd.com/index.html

Surgery took longer than expected, he had me scheduled for 2 - 2.5 hours, I'm not sure how long it actually took, but I think he had to end up doing more work to "even" them out then he had originally anticipated.  To be honest, even though I haven't unwrapped yet and I'm still really swollen - I still feel like my right boob is bigger, so I'm not sure how I feel about that right now...

We didn't end up making it back to the house until a little after 3pm and I was miserable!  I kept telling the nurses that I felt like something was digging into the incision under my breasts, they kept assuring me there wasn't.  Dr. OB stopped by afterwards briefly and I remember him saying something about deep stitches and that's why it was hurting, but I was pretty out of it so who knows.  I remember crying/whining on the way home (it was about a 45 minute drive), every bump, sudden stop/braking or quick acceleration left me breathless!  I don't know what The Husband didn't understand about the fact that I had just had surgery, but I don't think I ever wanted to stab him in his dick more than I did in those 45 minutes - then he had the nerve to take a conference call while we were in the car!  AssssHhhooooooolllee!

So today is Day 4 post-op and I feel pretty great!  Tuesday was bad, Wednesday was horrible, Thursday was better and today is good!  I can definitely tell an improvement from day to day in the pain and swelling.  Old Balls said I could unwrap for up to 30 minutes/day starting on Wednesday, but I've yet to unwrap at all!  I'm scared to, I don't know why - I just am!  I guess in my mind I think once I unwrap them, they will probably move and that it will hurt?  I don't know!  I have to unwrap today, I just need to woman-up and do it!

I've been trying to decide how to describe the pain or feeling I've had since the surgery.  Here is what I have come up...
  • The first thing you notice is the heavy feeling on your chest - like an elephant is literally sitting directly on your chest.
  • The inability to take a nice, big deep breath - this drove me insane!
  • The worst part of the day is the morning, when you first wake up and have to get out of bed.  I'm assuming its from having been laying down so long, but when you first sit up or stand up - it feels like your boobs are being pulled off, it's a weird and definitely uncomfortable feeling.
  • You can't use your arms and this makes sitting/laying down or sitting/standing up very difficult and awkward.  It also makes it hard to like adjust yourself in a chair or in bed b/c you can't use your arms to push yourself up or back.
  • You have to lay on your back, at an incline - this is just plain uncomfortable.
  • You can't feed yourself for like the first day or two because you can't move your arms up to your mouth! I'm serious.
  • The sore muscle feeling - I don't know why, but I didn't really expect it and it's not even just my chest...it's my lower back, my neck - I think this has to do more with the position you lay in though.
  • Now, for the biggest surprise that I never anticipated...You cannot go to the bathroom by yourself for at least the first 2 days.  I would have never thought of this fact before going in!

I felt like this lady, my arms felt so swollen and pushed out that I couldn't put them down straight - let alone reach my "uh-oh" in order to properly cleanse myself after using the restroom (after squatting just to get on the toilet)!  So The Asshole Husband was a necessity at this point, unfortunately!  I really could have used one of these "old people" extended wiper deals - keep that in mind if any of you ladies decide to get your boobs done!

I go back to see Dr. Old Balls Monday morning.  He will remove the dressings and tape and then put new dressings back on.  Like I said, I'm freaking out about that - I do NOT want to pass out!  LOL!

Who Knew...

Boobs would be such an interesting and fun topic to discuss with all of my virtual BFFs!  After my last post announcing my Blogging Hiatus, I received numerous emails from ladies wanting and hoping that I'd still share all the deets about my upcoming Boobie Makeover...I mean who can say no to women wanting to hear all about you and your boobs?  I'll tell you who can't...this girl right here!  I'm a self-admitted Attention Whore so of course I'll tell you everything you want to hear and more, much, much more that you probably don't want to know...but you take the good with the bad I guess!

Lindsey over at A Plane Doctor, His Nurse and 3 Little Passengers and I were emailing last night about the upcoming boobie makeover and below is what I told her about the upcoming procedure.  This pretty much covers everything I know at this point.

Well I'm not getting implants! Ha. I have D's already and honestly wouldn't mind if they were smaller!

So I'm just getting a lift. I originally thought a small implant was what I needed/wanted before I went to my consultation. Someone had told me that if you go over the muscle it gives you like an "instant lift" - that's a lie! Haha!

Dr. Old Balls said that my boobs are too big and too heavy (nice way to say saggy) that an implant would only make them bigger and heavier. He said I still have enough good breast tissue that I just need a lift. I even asked about an implant with the lift and he said not unless I wanted them bigger - which again, I don't!

He point blank said what are your biggest complaints? What do you want out of the procedure? I said I want them back up where they are supposed to be and I want them evened out.

My right boob is WAY bigger then my left - probably a good 1/2 cup size. Everything pulls to the right side - all my clothes and bras! And stripes - can't wear them because the stripes like go downhill to the left! LOL! A v-neck shirt or dress? The "v" is always off to the right, never centered. And when I don't have a shirt or bra on - my right nipple is literally a good inch lower than the left!

I told Dr. OB that I had two concerns with a lift - I have always said that I would never do a lift...

Concern #1 - That the idea of a lift scared me because I love my nipples - the sensation (and yes I've had my nipples pierced twice in my life) not the appearance! ;-) And that the thought of someone cutting my nipple off, moving it and then sewing it back on scared the BEJESUS out of me! He quickly said, " I do not cut your nipple off! No, no, no! Your nipple will never be unattached from you breast!" He said that a permanent loss of sensation is like less than half of 1% and that in the "old days" (like his balls) it was more common, but that the techniques have really evolved and that loss of sensation is so, so rare these days! He did say that some women have a temporary loss or decrease in sensation, but that it only lasts like 60-90 days. Concern #1 Resolved! Score! 1 Point to the Dr. with the Old "Heavy" Balls...

Concern #2 - How would a lift solve my asymmetry issue? I always assumed an implant would be the only way to even them out! You know a little more saline in the left one kind of thing? He explained that before he does the actual lift he will liposuction my bigger boob to take the volume down to match closer to the smaller one. Then once he was satisfied with that, he would do the actual lift procedure. I asked him if that would for sure make them even. He was quick and honest to point out that they will probably not be perfect! He said, "They won't be exactly the same, if God can't make you perfect, I can't make you perfect!" But he assured me that there will be a great improvement from how uneven they are now! I was satisfied with his answer and even appreciated his honesty and real-ness about the issue! Concern #2 Resolved!  Chalk up another Point for the Balls!
So that's my Boobie Story and I'm sticking to it!

So that is basically what I know right now!  I went for my pre-op appointment yesterday morning, it was uneventful - really they just wanted my money!  Who knew you had to pre-pay for plastic surgery?  I also tried to get them to submit to my insurance company, yeah so don't bother with that, they won't do it!  However, this did happen...

Then I was talked into this...peer pressure is a Bitch!

Surgery is scheduled for next Tuesday, March 5th at 9:00am CST!  I'm super excited and not nervous at all...YET!  And I'm honestly just worried about post-op, the pain and uncomfortableness don't sound so pleasing!  Neither do the fact that I might not get to shower for 5 days...more on that later!

I will update as much as I can next week, but if you want more "real-time" updates as shit goes down make sure you are following me on my Home Girl, Instagram @ darci_spear

Holy Old Heavy, Hair Balls!  I've missed you Girls! xoxo
